In 2005, Debra's commitment to family also lead to the creation of Jockey Being Family™, a corporate citizenship initiative to help strengthen adoptive families for successful futures. There are more than 118,000 children in the United States public foster care system awaiting a loving family, but there are many challenges they face once adoption occurs. The Jockey Being Family™ program focuses on raising the awareness of the need for post-adoption services so that newly adoptive families have the critical information, understanding and support necessary to strengthen their bonds and become "forever families."
